FAQs

Iron Standard Physical Therapy has answers for all your burning questions about our physical therapy services. Feel free to browse our collection of frequently asked questions, all conveniently answered below.

What type of problems do you treat?

At Iron Standard, we use modern, evidence-based treatment techniques to treat a wide variety of aches, pains, or problems including:

  • Athletic injuries, including sprains and strains
  • Back pain
  • Calf and ankle pain
  • Headaches
  • Hip pain
  • Jaw pain
  • Knee pain
  • Neck pain
  • Pain with lifting or other activities
  • Rehabilitation and return to sport after surgery
  • Shoulder pain
  • and more!
What is cash-based physical therapy?

This means that we are an out-of-network provider, and we do not directly bill through insurance (although you may be eligible for reimbursement from your insurance company).

Because we don’t contract directly with insurance companies, this means that we work directly with our patients to form a plan of care that is not restricted by an insurance company.

Every session is one-on-one with your designated doctor of physical therapy, and you will never have to share your time with another patient. All of this translates into more personalized care, which can yield faster and better results.

Can I use my insurance at all?

You can absolutely use your out-of-network insurance benefits. We also accept payments from health savings accounts (HSA) and flexible spending accounts (FSA).

We will still collect your payment at the time of service, and we will provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company. By submitting this, you may be able to get reimbursement for some portion – typically 50% to 80% – of your upfront costs, but this depends on your out-of-network plan benefits.

If you have questions about this, we are happy to contact your insurance provider and let you know what your benefits are so that you know what kind of reimbursement to expect.

What type of payments do you accept?

We accept most forms of payment, including all major credit cards, cash, check, and HSA/FSA.

Where are you located?

We have partnerships with fantastic gyms across the greater Birmingham, Alabama, area. If none of these locations are convenient for you, we can also meet you at your home, office, or any other location that works best for you!

Do you have a question for us that you don’t find answered above? We’re happy to answer any questions you may have. Just give us a call at (770) 789-8380. At Iron Standard Physical Therapy in Birmingham, Alabama, we look forward to helping you heal right the first time.
